English Training for Companies

Donside Consultants runs intensive 3 or 5 day Business English Language training courses in Aberdeen city.  Our classes are tailored to meet the needs of the delegates and include regular follow up sessions.  

As every client is different, so is every course we provide. We will conduct a needs analysis to assess strengths and weaknesses and devise a programme that is suitable. We will develop materials specific to the company’s requirements. Some of the most common topics required include:

General Grammar - tenses, prepositions, phrasal verbs

Style, tone and formality - downtoning skills, register

Social English - vocabulary building, customs, idiomatic expressions

Presentation skills - preparation and delivery, dealing with questioning

The language of telephoning - making, receiving, specific vocabulary

The language of negotiating - specific vocabulary, skills and techniques

The language of meetings - chairing, participating, dealing with questions

We aim to furnish our clients with total immersion tailored language courses which will allow the individual to maximise their learning potential. It will provide a solid base of English grammar on which to build further knowledge. It will identify already existing errors and provide the individual with effective strategies for recognising and preventing these.

We will also improve fluency and accuracy of communication, including recognising different types of register and responding appropriately.

On top of these core skills, we will look at specific language skills that the organisation requires for its employees- meetings, negotiations, presentations, report writing and entertaining.

These programmes give participants the opportunity to immerse themselves totally in the language, allowing them to practise speaking and listening skills over long periods and build up sound communicative competence.
